The bicycle analogy is quite fitting when you think about it. When you're coasting on a bike with no forward movement, it becomes extremely difficult to keep balanced. The slightest wobble can quickly send you off-kilter and tumbling down. The same applies to our lives - when we become stagnant and stop driving towards our goals and dreams, even the smallest bump in the road can throw us completely off balance. But when we keep pedaling, keep putting one foot in front of the other metaphorically, it's much easier to correct those little wobbles and maintain our trajectory. Continuously working towards something, whether it's a career ambition, personal growth, or an exciting adventure, provides that all-important forward momentum that becomes the stabilizing force in our lives.     Hey there, friends! As we step into the blank canvas of 2024, I can't help but feel a surge of excitement! This year, I’m declaring a word for the coming year.  A word that will act as a beacon that will light my path through whatever comes my way – "Perseverance." A Personal Journey of Resilience: Perseverance to me is having the drive and fortitude to push through challenges that will arise in 2024, whether in my personal life or work life; challenges related to fear or negativity or overwhelm. For me, turning 50 carried a lot of different emotions with it.  The one that stands out the most is that I’m entering a new phase of life that is not centrally focused on motherhood.  It’s left this feeling of a somewhat blank canvas, unsure of what comes next.  It’s left me asking the question, “how do I want to show up for myself and others the next 50 years?” In a world that's constantly evolving, I've come to realize and accept that challenges are inevitable.  It’s God’s way of showing me I’m still kickin’ and have a lot of life to live!  So instead of fearing them, why not face them head-on with an unwavering spirit? That to me is the essence of perseverance –showing myself what I’m truly capable of and not just enduring difficulties but thriving in the face of them! Setting the Tone: 2024 holds the promise of transformation and I'm ready to embrace it with open arms.
